Imthereallthing,

The CEP has repeatedly stated that they ask permission before republishing work by others and will only do so with their permission. Saying things to the contrary may give people the notion that they do not behave as well as they do and is counterproductive if what you want is more good things in CEP.

This silly, destructive and baseless argument had finally died; it should be left that way. It is not an argument that can be “won”, there are only losers and they are anyone who cares about this game. It matters not what people “can” do, what does matter is what they actually do. CEP has always had impeccable manners as far as I can tell, that is why they are so widely respected in the community. There may be a couple of dissenters but it is better to just ignore them rather than add fuel to their dying embers.

Tyndrel,

I am just ADDING water to those "dying embers"...to extinguish thier kind once and for all.

In war one does not back down from the enemy...we fight to win...expose them for thier selfishness and publicly humiliate them back into thier hole in the wall from whence they crawled.

None the less -- CEP asks permission and follows the will of the authors.

Only in cases of orphaned material that repeated attempts at reaching the persons have failed do we go ahead and work with such material -- and -- we keep an open invitation to such authors for their input.

This is the beginning and end of it and why the campaign to turn authors off the CEP was/is harmful.

Wow that was a hell of a slog through all those posts.

And I got nothing from it except angry people angry at other people.

Too bad. I love, CEP, CCP, CTP etc.
I feel blessed that I am allowed to play with such great contributions from all you talented people.

So that being said. Keep up the good work. Stick to your convictions because they are yours.

Thanks for wonderful work from someone looking in and not really knowing or wanting to know what is going on.

First of all, thanks to all the CEP team to compile and create contents for NWN.
It's a really an hard work to do, and i take my hat off for them.
I think that nwn would not have been so fabulous without cep.
I use CEP for to years on my PW and i just can't imagine a PW without it.
It's so sad to hear that some people made a campaign against the CEP team and Barry...
I just dont listen to the lies of this campaign.

I'm agree with barry, CEP have to asks permission and follows the will of the authors.
And because we are in the tileset topic, because i'm an author and because may be some of you know that i'm on the nwncq tileSet project, i want you to know that if one day you think that my job reach the quality you want for cep contents and if you want it, it will be a pleasure and a honor to allow you to integrate it, just ask.

keep up the good work guys, cep fans are still here!
We are at your side!

Forest and Rural Tilesets: This is really more of a "Has anyone else had weird issues?" question than anything, and may not be related to CEP tilesets at all. However, has anyone had pathfinding issues with the rural and forest tilesets (both on foot and mounted)? We've only started having problems in the last couple months, and we can't seem to locate the source of the issue. Basically, characters are running into the "hidden walls", and then are able to run right through boulders that in the old days one had to run around. It reminded me a bit of maybe an override problem ala NWNCQ, but we haven't been able replicate the problem offline.

So, just tossing a line out there because I know the CEP folks have about as much experience as anyone in these matters. Thanks.

First, sorry to bother Great CEP team with a NWNCQ issue, i know that you are overloaded with new CEP version.Because I think, Grizzled Dwarflord, that you speak of an old NWNCQ v1.0 issue here.

This issue appeared, for example, when you download NWNCQ V1.0 override, then clear some *.mdl files but not *.wok. It may have appeared too if you have a hak with modified bioware tilessets wok

But It have been fixed in NWNCQ V1.1. (no more Wok in V1.1, so no more problems^^)

so:
1/ clear your override to be sure to be ok
2/ Unpack NWNCQ V1.1

if you have still problems after, feed back me.

I hope i have not bother you with that barry.

Thanks again for great job here ;)

You're not bothering Barry because it's not a NWNCQ issue-- at least, not that I can prove. Neither the server nor the playerbase use the override. The server has never used or downloaded the override. I only "suspected" it could be an issue if a player logged into the server with CQ stuffed in their override, and then created havoc with pathfinding on the rest of the server. I know that at least one player did, and he has since removed the override, and we have since had several dozen server resets. So, I'm fairly confident that CQ is NOT the cause since we tried replicating it locally, and by doing server resets with players who have empty overrides, etc.

That's what I thought, too, because we do have one of those, namely, the CEP.

I'm trying to explore other possibilities here, and to see if anyone has had issues with old Rural and Forest tilesets created pre-CEP2.2, and now are experiencing weirdness related to pathfinding in post CEP2.2, particularly around rock and boulder formations.

Also, and probably a different thread, I noted that base movement in general has been slowed since we went 2.3. I didn't think CEP had any scripts that governed this?
